چکیده

We describe a practical approach for visualizing dynamic relational data and multiple relationships on the same data using a geographic map metaphor, where clusters of nodes form countries and neighboring countries correspond to nearby clusters. Our aim is to compare two or more maps obtained using different similarity metrics and to provide an interactive tool to visually explore the effect of combining two or more similarity metrics. Our method ensures good readability and mental map preservation, based on dynamic node placement with node stability, dynamic clustering with cluster stability, and dynamic coloring with color stability.

Demo: Tracking Transit with EasyTracker

EasyTracker is an automated system that assists small public or private transit agencies in deploying bus tracking and arrival time prediction. This demo will showcase how data from GPS sensors embedded in smartphones can be automatically processed in order to accurately estimate routes, bus stop locations, schedules, and make annotated maps with real-time bus tracking and arrival time predicti...

A Joint Semantic Vector Representation Model for Text Clustering and Classification

Text clustering and classification are two main tasks of text mining. Feature selection plays the key role in the quality of the clustering and classification results. Although word-based features such as term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) vectors have been widely used in different applications, their shortcoming in capturing semantic concepts of text motivated researches to use...

Planar Graphs as Minimal Resolutions of Trivariate Monomial Ideals

We introduce the notion of rigid embedding in a grid surface, a new kind of plane drawing for simple triconnected planar graphs. Rigid embeddings provide methods to (1) find well-structured (cellular, here) minimal free resolutions for arbitrary monomial ideals in three variables; (2) strengthen the Brightwell–Trotter bound on the order dimension of triconnected planar maps by giving a geometri...

Visualizing Graphs as Maps with Contiguous Regions

Relational datasets, which include clustering information, can be visualized with tools such as BubbleSets, LineSets, SOM, and GMap. The countries in SOM-based and GMap-based visualizations are fragmented, i.e., they are represented by several disconnected regions. While BubbleSets and LineSets have contiguous regions, these regions may overlap, even when the input clustering is non-overlapping...

Comparison Between Unsupervised and Supervise Fuzzy Clustering Method in Interactive Mode to Obtain the Best Result for Extract Subtle Patterns from Seismic Facies Maps

Pattern recognition on seismic data is a useful technique for generating seismic facies maps that capture changes in the geological depositional setting. Seismic facies analysis can be performed using the supervised and unsupervised pattern recognition methods. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we compared and evaluated the capability of two unsuperv...
